Unique photography, greeting cards, bookmarks and more are all just made by myself, Jill Erin Mahan. I sell my photographic prints, greeting cards and other printed items at Craft Fair, on Etsy and also by email. I am a member of NH Made and the upcoming year will be more exciting than the last with new craft fair venues, online specials, facebook only offers and more.
I was born and raised in New Hampshire’s Lakes Region. I attended Winnisquam Regional High School in Tilton, New Hampshire. There I was awarded the Sliver Key for the Boston Globe Art Contest in 1994 in the Graphic Design category which began my interest in Graphic Design. After Graduating from WRHS in 1997, I continued my education at New Hampshire Community College-Laconia. There I learned how to run a printing press, used the old fashioned vertical camera for printing, silk screening, estimating, typography, photo editing and many other classes. In the spring of 1999, I graduated with my Associates in Graphic Arts.
In 1999, I joined the workforce as a graphic designer and prepress specialist in two print shops. I loved graphic design and my career so much that I wanted to continue my education. I returned to school at Plymouth State University to obtain my Bachelor of Arts with concentration in Graphic Design and minor in Art History. I was also working part time in Concord while going to school full time in Plymouth. At PSU I enjoyed many classes (drawing, painting, ceramics, graphic design, photography, art history, etc.). During my time at PSU, I realized that my heart wanted to be a full time artist but my brain told me that I needed to be the graphic designer I have become.
All of my experience has made me a high-quality graphic designer who has an extreme understanding and appreciation of printing and of art. With support from many people in my life, I am now doing both with a feeling of accomplishment and pride.
